Brotherly Love

I had a really neat time with this family today. The boys were full of energy and the parents pretty much agreed to anything I wanted to do. The oldest boy made me laugh...he has big plans in life. When he turns 16 he is going to work at the Rave (movie theatre), and after that he's going to join the Air Force.

just one

0001

We have this weird habit in my family (on the Bradley side) where we stick out our tongues whenever we are doing anything where we have to concentrate. It's very strange, and unfortunately it is in Evie's genes too. Today I took some pictures of her in her room and this is one of the few where her tongue isn't sticking out of her mouth!

After I posted this and thought about it for a while, I thought why not show the pictures where her tongue is sticking out? I'm sure my mom will get a kick out of this. She's slightly amused when her grandkids start to do this...she knew it would only be a matter of time ;) Look at this...see how much concentration it takes to clap! This reminds me so much of my dad it's scary.

Here she is going in head first. Little did I know, while I was taking pictures of the caboose, she was eating the sand.

A Great Weekend

olivia 3 low res

These are my cousin Liz's two girls, Olivia and Ava. We had a wonderful weekend, most of which was spent outside at my parents' house and my aunt's house. Cornhole, hayrides, four wheeler rides, Evie got to swing a lot, but mostly it was good because my whole family was there. Also, I got the best news this afternoon. One of my very best friends is moving about 10 minutes away this summer. Maybe even closer...we'll see. Anyway I've been praying for this for a long time, and her husband has applied for a few jobs around, and he'd make it to the final two on those and then not get hired. All of those jobs would've been further away though. It's like it was meant to be, that he'd not get those so that he could take this one, and it's so close to us. I'm really really happy!

Finally! She Colors!

0005lr

Recently Evie has taken an interest in coloring. This is something I've tried to get her to do in the past, but she just started getting excited about it. I think I need a tablecloth now. As my friend Christina pointed out yesterday, Evie's morning hair is very pretty. Well, her afternoon hair is just as pretty I guess. ;)

If you look closely at that orange crayon, you can see that the color is "Macaroni and Cheese." I think we need to stop blaming video games and fast food for the obesity problem in America and start looking at Crayola.

Here is Evie's representation of Daddy, Mommy, and Evie (self pronounced Ehie). You can see she has an imaginative view of her father.

a little sand...a lot of fun

sandboxlr

We were gifted a sandbox from the neighbors, and now we are so glad they gave it to us. Evie is still kind of timid about the "gucky" sand that gets on her hands, but she really likes to dig her feet in. Even when it's cold she's whining for me to take her shoes off so she can put her feet in it. Paci update: I worked today, so Greg was home with Evie. He emailed me in the afternoon and said that Evie had found a leftover paci in her closet (somehow we missed that one), and she ran out of the room really excited holding it in the air yelling, "bobbie! bobbie!" (that's what she calls it). Then when he was in her sight she shoved it in her mouth agressively so he wouldn't take it. And you know the rest of the story...he took it...she cried. Kind of breaks your heart, doesn't it?

a sleepover

My niece Jordan is always begging to have a sleepover with Evie. Last night we finally got to do it. Do they look like they are having a good time?

hansi lr

I got to have lunch with my friend Darshika today, who is in town from Boston this weekend. She told me to bring my camera, so before we left I took a few shots of her and her daughters in the parking lot of all places! Wish I had more time with them!

nothing else to do on a rainy day

diaper girl 2

You can always tell when it's raining outside...the pictures are always taken in our room, since it has the best lighting. Since Evie is in the running for the most photographed person ever I thought I'd put her in the lead today. She insists on wearing these silly rain boots which are 3 sizes too big for her, so I wanted to capture that too.

just one more post with the tulips

0016 lr0015 lr

I know, it's getting a little ridiculous. I'm just really liking the colors of these flowers and can't help myself. I may have been wrong about them dying if I left them outside in the cold. I've seen lots of tulips that survived the weather, so that shows you what I know about horticulture. Oh well, Evie G. had fun with them anyway.

another couple of pictures from Friday...

Love to see this sweet smile. Tonight we said bye bye to the paci. As Greg pointed out, it was harder on me than it was on Evie. She went to sleep with no problem and no crying, although she did ask for it before we put her down. But I know, along with the diaper, the paci was one of the last few signs of babyhood. Our baby isn't going to be a baby much longer.
