I think this is baby Maddy's 3rd appearance on Evie Unplugged. She is such a beautiful baby. She and Evie are BFFs.

Man, that's a big head! But I kind of like the look she's giving me.

My absolute favorite part about Hawaii is the flowers. Growing year round, they are just so thick and lush. I think she's trying to smell a hibiscus flower here. I have one of these as a tree but it's not doing so hot right now. It's tropical, so it's been inside all winter not getting nearly the sunlight it deserves. If anyone wants it just let me know. I'll pay you to take it. But the baby stays.

pineapple mania

Evie has a new favorite fruit. In fact today when we went grocery shopping I had to keep giving her bits of pineapple out of a jar to keep her quiet. Here she is in Maui getting our bed sticky.

We had a great time on our trip! I have lots of pictures to sort through, and I promise to post more, but here are a few of my favorites.

She treated the sand as if it were snow for a little while...you know, not wanting to touch it or step on it. But eventually that wore off and she was putting footprints in it.

This is on our last day, just taking it easy on the beach since we had to check out of our hotel early. Looks pretty tired, doesn't she?

this is why I wanted a girl...

To dress her up! Actually she's the one who wanted to dress up. Last night we were packing for our trip to Hawaii (tomorrow!! yaay!), and I laid this dress out that Grandma W had gotten for Evie. When I looked back the dress and Evie were both gone. When she reappeared with the dress it was all wet. A trail from the toilet seat led me to conclude that she had dipped the dress in the toilet. Sorry Grandma. We washed it last night and laid it out to dry. Today she was begging me to put it on her, so that's just what we did. Pretty flattering, don't you think? Now if we could just figure out what to do with that hair!

I've had a few people ask me if we are having a boy because of my Greg Jr. comment in the last post. No, we don't know that, since we're waiting for the surprise this time. We'd be thrilled with either but have a feeling it's a Mr.

Anyway, back to the princess. She's having a lot of fun exploring and being outside. Today she got to see about 50 worms fall off the garage door when we opened it this morning, and has "yucky" down pat. (I taught her that..worms are yucky. We don't eat them).

She learned how to water her shoes...


She ventured off to see her favorite neighbor, even though I told her nobody was home...


But she didn't believe me, so she just stood there waiting for them to open the door...


Then she waited in her little wagon and waited for mommy to push her...


And finally she tried to eat some plastic...

I'm not really into scrapbooking, mostly because it takes a lot of time and glue. Neither of which I have. But I think one day Evie will appreciate that I kept this blog. Pretty soon it will have to be moved to another location, with a new name. I can't have Greg Jr. sharing Evie Unplugged. Until then I'm enjoying the one on one time. Today we got to spend a lot of time outside. Evie was thrilled to be walking on the ground outside with no snow under her feet. There is still a little sludge in our side yard, and she slipped and fell when she was following me into the garage. I said, "you better get up..you're getting your pants all muddy." So she picked herself up, and started brushing off her knees (the wet spots didn't brush off). Then she was very proud of herself and said, "Good girl!" and kept walking. Everything that comes out of her mouth makes me smile.





I wanted to post a picture of Greg throwing Evie in the air. He does this at least once every evening, and she loves it, although she doesn't get the lift that she used to. Then again she doesn't spit up anymore after he does it either :)

These pictures were taken just before Evie dropped some friends off at the pool, if you know what I mean. I don't know what is up with that, but that's the second time she has gone potty in the tub. Then she acts surprised like she has no idea what that is floating in the water with her, and she gets scared and cries for me to get her out. Of course I do, mainly because I want to bleach the tub before she gets back in it. She's something else! :)

This poor little baby has been sick with some kind of stomach virus. She's finally nearing the end of it but it's been rough.
